Ines Grimaux

Ines Grimaux is a contemporary artist and environmentalist whose multidisciplinary practice spans photography, drawing, painting, and sculpture. For many years based on the Island of Itaparica, Bahia, she has been a dedicated supporter of various NGOs, integrating her artistic vision with environmental activism and territorial development.

Her work explores perception beyond appearance, creating contemplative visual experiences that manifest as a continuous observation of existence. In her practice, photography often serves as a powerful medium for performance documentation, such as the Siren Jones series - a collaboration with performer Elizabeth Doud that gained international recognition and was featured in publications in Miami.

As a multifaceted professional, her career transitions between artistic and documentary photography, cultural management, and strategic design. Between 2013 and 2026, she has systematically articulated contemporary art, traditional communities, and cultural policies in Bahia, Brazil, with international reverberations in the fields of performance and environmental activism.
